Task 8: Very large scale PV power generation systems This task began in May 1999. Its objectives are to gather basic data relating to the establishment of the Very Large Scale Photovoltaic Power Generations Systems (VLS-PV), which would be an essential factor in the construction on unused land, including desert, unsuitable for agriculture or habitation, where irradiation is abundant, in assessment of the potential towards future installations of global scale PV systems, as well as data which would lead to the identification of an optimal location for VLS-PV; and create the models of a VLS-PV system and through case studies in selected regions. create a scenario which positively influences the installation of VLS-PV and evaluate benefits on the region where VLS-PV constructed, effects on the PV industry and also environmental impact.
