Last updated: 9 January 2005

PVPS’s collection and analysis of performance data from PV power plants around the world, will continue until at least August 2007.

Four new participants, Canada, EU, Sweden and US join the six existing countries (AUT, CHE, DEU, FRA, ITA, JPN), while Poland will enter as an observer. This will add valuable information to the PV performance database and will further assist the group’s work on system optimization with respect to long-term performance, reliability and economics.

A number of new activities are planned; in particular, the group aims to provide technical assessments and technology trends of PV systems and components. Technical analysis of the enlarged database will also enable the group to derive more reliable PV technology performance predictions. Of particular importance are plans to undertake an economic analysis of actual PV system costs including maintenance and failure costs for a variety of system configurations and applications. Task 2 is seeking volunteers to contribute relevant data via an internet-based survey. The questionnaire will be online in March 2005.

Parties can register their interest to participate in the survey by contacting
