The NCPV, which was established by the US Department of Energy in 1996, serves to mobilize US resources in photovoltaics by performing world-class research and development, promoting partnering and growth opportunities, and serving as a forum and information source for the photovoltaics community.

The NCPV website provides information about the Centre and the United States PV programme, as well as a good resource area containing PV-related background information, educational material and news.
