BP poses a 'solar challenge'.

BP has initiated an internet forum or 'knowledge network for exchange of ideas, creative technical openings and inspiration' on solar energy. The challenge has two focus areas: the first is to develop inexpensive solar panels, that can be integrated into residential and commercial buildings; the second is to develop a '21st Century Solarplant' to accommodate the ten-fold increase in production throughout that the company believes will be needed in the next decade if it is to meet the expected growth in demand.

The company is inviting visitors to their website to become part of the solar knowledge network in order to contribute to achieving these two challenges.
