A book illustrating 54 examples of stand-alone photovoltaic systems operating reliably and efficiently around the world has recently been published as an initiative of IEA  PVPS Task 3.

The eleven countries participating in the Task each contributed to the publication to demonstrate:

• Examples where PV is the cheapest electrification option
• The wide variety of products developed to make use of PV
• Cases where PV electricity is both reliable and proven
• Examples of products with a high market potential

The book is directed towards anyone whose work involves remote sources of power, renewable energy experts, development workers, in fact anybody with an interest in the vast potential of this flexible technology.
