• ECN, UK Environmental Change Network
  The aim of the ECN is to establish and maintain a selected network of sites within the UK from which to obtain comparable long-term datasets through the monitoring of a range of variables identified as being of major environmental importance. The website includes ECN data, environmental indicators and publications.
• EERU, Energy and Environment Research Unit
  EERU is based in the Faculty of Technology of the Open University in Milton Keynes. The work of EERU is concerned with human energy systems; the biosphere seen as a solar-powered system; and the interaction between these systems.
• PV-UK, British Photovoltaic Association
  In addition to standard information on what PV is, applications, news and events, etc., the remodelled website incorporates two useful tools: the first is a searchable directory of UK suppliers of PV products and services; the second is a database containing descriptive listings of all UK PV in buildings projects.
• RL-ERU, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Research Energy Research Unit The Energy Research Unit (ERU) specialises in performing and enabling innovative research on new and renewable energy technologies, including photovoltaics.
• UK-ISES - The Solar Energy Society of Great Britain
  The Solar Energy Society, UK Section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), aims to further the use of all forms of renewable energy, and provides a forum for all those interested in renewable energy technologies, including solar water heating, solar design in buildings, photovoltaics, wind generators, small-scale hydro-electricity, wave energy, and biomass.

  The IEA-PVPS UK website describes UK activity in the field of photovoltaics (solar electricity) and in particular the United Kingdom's participation within the International Energy Agency's Photovoltaic Power Systems (PVPS) Programme. It includes the option to download the UK's Status Report 2001
• University of Northumbria
  The site includes information about the Newcastle Photovoltaics Application Centre, which was established in 1984 to provide an expert photovoltaic research and consultancy service. The Centre's Northumbria Solar Project recently made national headlines to produce Britain's only solar powered office block.
• University of Reading
  The Energy Group of the University of Reading is based in the Department of Engineering, although members of staff from the Department of Cybernetics are also involved in both teaching and research as well as additional activities. A Building Integrated PhotoVoltaic roof is a new feature of the Engineering building and detailed monitoring is being done by the Energy Group.

• ASES, American Solar Energy Society
  The American Solar Energy Society is a national organization dedicated to advancing the use of solar energy for the benefit of U.S. citizens and the global environment. ASES promotes the widespread near-term and long-term use of solar energy. ASES sponsors the National Solar Energy Conference, publishes Solar Today TODAY magazine and Advances in Solar Energy, publishes white papers, sponsors issue Roundtables in Washington, DC, distributes solar publications, organizes a Solar Action Network and has regional chapters throughout the country. • CDIAC, Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center
  This center, which includes the World Data Center for Atmospheric Trace Gases, is the primary global-change data and information analysis center of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).   The EPA Global Warming Site is provided as a public service by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. With the Global Warming Site, EPA strives to present accurate information on the very broad issue of climate change and global warming in a way that is accessible and meaningful to all parts of society – communities, individuals, business, public officials and governments. • RAEL, Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory
  The Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory is a new research, development, project implementation, and community outreach facility based at the University of California, Berkeley in the Energy and Resouces Group and the Department of Nuclear Engineering. RAEL focuses on designing, testing, and disseminating renewable and appropriate energy systems. The website includes the option to download publications, including several reports on photovoltaic solar energy.   The mission of the University of California Energy Institute is to foster research and educate students and policy makers on energy issues which are crucial to the future of California, the nation, and the World. The Energy Institute is the only research unit in the U.C. system that focuses broadly on energy.
