- Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre
In recognition of the significant impact of ventilation on energy use, combined with concerns over indoor air quality, the International Energy Agency (IEA) inaugurated the Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre in 1979. The role of the centre is to provide technical support to those involved in the research and development of ventilation technology as well as to ensure the widest dissemination of information on related energy and air quality issues. The AIVC offers a wide range of publications and literature from its own bookshop. These include journals and technical publications as well as a bibliographical and a numerical database in electronic format, and proceedings from previous AIVC conferences. All these items can be viewed in the online AIVC Publications Shop.
- Bioenergy, Task 27, Liquid Biofuels
The IEA Bioenergy agreement has the objective of realising the use of environmentally sound and cost-competitive bioenergy on a sustainable basis to make a substantial contribution to meeting future energy demands. The objective of Task 27 is to identify and eliminate non-technical barriers that impede the deployment of liquid fuels. To meet this objective, participants exchange information exchange and analyze activities to provide governments, policy makers, and stakeholders with improved information on non-technical issues related to biofuels. - CADDET, Energy Efficiency
CADDET Energy Efficiency collects, analyzes and enhances the international exchange of impartial information on new, cost-effective, energy-saving technologies.
- CADDET, Renewable Energy
CADDET Renewable Energy is an International Energy Agency agreement for the exchange of information on commercial renewable energy projects and has been operating since 1993. CADDET Renewable Energy provides information and project examples on the following technologies: geothermal, biomass, waste, hydro, solar, wind and photovoltaics. The site includes a PV product page, which features 85 register entries, 18 technical brochures and a wide range of past newsletter articles on PV projects.
- Coal Research - The Clean Coal Centre
The IEA Coal Research - The Clean Coal Centre enhances innovation and continued development of coal as a clean source of energy. This is achieved by gathering, assessing and distributing knowledge on the energy efficient and environmentally sustainable use of coal. The website provides information on efficient coal supply and use, including publications. Moreover, the website features access to several databases, in which information is stored about coal.
- DHC, District Heating and Cooling
The mission of the IEA Implementing Agreement on District Heating & Cooling including the integration of CHP is to conduct highly effective Research and Development as well as policy analysis of District Heating and Cooling Systems with low Environmental Impact through international collaboration. IEA DHC is furthering this mission by selecting, managing and publishing collaborative co-funded projects collating and exchanging information on R&D projects between countries.
- ECBCS, Energy Conservation in Buildings & Community Systems Programme
The function of ECBCS is to undertake research and provide an international focus for building energy efficiency. Tasks are undertaken through a series of annexes that are directed at energy saving technologies and activities that support their application in practice. Results are also used in the formulation of international and national energy conservation policies and standards.
- ETDE, Energy Technology Data Exchange
This website includes the ETDEWEB, the ETDE World Energy Base, a new tool for disseminating the energy research and technology information that ETdE collects and exchanges.
- GHG, Greenhouse Gas Programme
The IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEA GHG) is an international collaboration which aims to:
- Identify and evaluate technologies for reducing emissions of greenhouse gases arising from use of fossil fuels;
- Disseminate the results of these studies;
- Identify targets for research, development and demonstration and promote the appropriate work.
At the site you will find an introduction to climate change as well as information on technical solutions. There are also copies of the GHG reports and the newsletter Greenhouse Issues, details of forthcoming conferences and links to other sites.
- GREENTIE
IEA GREENTIE is an international information network that distributes details of suppliers whose technologies help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. GREENTIE also provides information on leading international organisations and IEA programmes whose RD&D and information activities centre around clean energy technologies. The GREENTIE Directory database contains details of almost 8,000 technology suppliers and information organisations from all over the world.
- HPC, Heat Pump Centre
The IEA Heat Pump Centre (HPC) is the International Energy Agency's information centre for heat pumping technologies, applications and markets. The HPC operates worldwide via a network of national teams in its member countries. The HPC is the IEA Information Centre at the heart of the IEA Heat Pump Programme (HPP).

This site describes the activities of the International Energy Agency Solar Heating and Cooling Programme.
- Solar City
This site gives information about the IEA-programme Solar City, aiming at sustainable technology in cities.
- SolarPACES, Solar Thermal Power and Chemical Energy Systems
Since 1977, one program of the International Energy Agency has focused exclusively on the development of solar thermal power and, later, also solar chemical energy systems. Known since 1991 as the SolarPACES Programme, it brings together research teams and industry partners from around the world to collaborate on technology development. The website gives information about the programme and the activities, whereas also the technologies and their economic feasiblity are discussed.
- Wind Turbine Systems (R&D Wind)
The general objective of the IEA "R&D Wind" programme is to undertake collaborative R&D projects, called Tasks, and to exchange information on the planning and execution of national large-scale systems. The website gives information about the programme, the participating countries and the Tasks. Besides, the annual reports can be downloaded from the site.
