CAT, Centre for Alternative Technology
CAT publishes a wide range of titles to present a range of material covering many positive and practical solutions to environmental problems. The full list of CAT publications is available and they can be ordered online, a selection are available to download for free. CAT also runs a number of short courses on renewable energy and sustainable energy systems and has a graduate school.
ECN, UK Environmental Change Network
The aim of the ECN is to establish and maintain a selected network of sites within the UK from which to obtain comparable long-term datasets through the monitoring of a range of variables identified as being of major environmental importance. The Carbon Trust
The Carbon Trust works with organisations to reduce carbon emissions and develop commercial low carbon technologies. The website includes publications, case studies and information on policy and regulation, research, low carbon technologies and energy efficiency. The Carbon Trust also runs a series of events and workshops.
Low Carbon Buildings Programme
The Governments Low Carbon Buildings Programme provides grants towards the cost of microgeneration technologies in a range of buildings including households, community organisations, public, private and the non-profit sectors. Details of the grants available and the application process are on the website. The website also includes a news section with renewable energy news highlights from the UK.
